The mission of the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Reaffirmation is to facilitate information management to ensure efficient decision making and program improvement throughout the College. We are committed to systematically analyzing and allocating academic and student enrollment resources to further GTCC's effectiveness in meeting its educational and administrative goals. The work of the IRER office creates a setting where college data is accurately recorded, maintained and managed to aid in college decision-making for the ultimate goal of continuously improving student success.
The office of IRER is comprised of four key areas: Institutional Research & Planning, Continuing Education Registrar, Curriculum/Extension FTE Auditing, Curriculum Planning.
*IRP - IRP provides information about GTCC programs and students to all areas of the College and specific external requesters. The information describes student characteristics, academic achievement, and information regarding various populations and college attributes. IRP coordinates mandated college reporting as well as completing federal, state, and accreditation reports. IRP enhances institutional effectiveness by establishing procedures for planning and assessment in a setting consistent with GTCC's purpose, resources and environment. Sr. Research Specialist: Donnie Knight
*Continuing Education Registrar - The Continuing Education Registrar's office provides helpful and efficient service to the GTCC Continuing Education College units to improve and support continuing education registration services to both internal and external customers by following state mandates, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting student records, among other processes. Continuing Education Registrar: Nate Humphrey
*Curriculum/Extension FTE Auditing - The FTE Auditing office safeguards the College by communicating state policies, rules, regulations and expectations, and by monitoring records and giving feedback to managers. This is accomplished by conducting a 100% audit of every curriculum and non-curriculum class held at GTCC, thereby ensuring programmatic compliance with the North Carolina General Statutes, the North Carolina Administrative Code, the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges policies, and the North Carolina Community College System Office guidelines. Director, FTE Auditing: Arnessa Richbourg
*Curriculum Planning - The Curriculum Planning office assists GTCC curriculum programs with their course and program of study planning and their space utilization. Colleague's Datatel system and College Net's R25/S25 systems are employed to manage classes, courses, rooms, and programs of study information. Additionally, information is provided about GTCC courses and programs to all areas of the College and the North Carolina Community College System. Curriculum Planning enhances institutional effectiveness by assisting with schedule planning and program of study compliance and improvement efforts.
