Bylaws to the Constitution

| Membership |
A. "Regular" is defined for the purpose of membership eligibility as occupying a full time regular or term teaching position or a regular part time position, that is allocated for faculty duties, which include but may not be limited to instruction, student advising, committee membership, and participation in other college activities.Faculty who have been assigned Department or Division Chair duties are eligible.
B. Faculty in full-time positions who have a special, temporary assignment that results in reduced faculty responsibilities retain membership eligibility. |

| Elections |
A. The chairperson of the Nominating and Election committee will solicit volunteers to serve on the committee by issuing a call for volunteers published in the Faculty Voice (August edition) and during the August meeting of the Faculty Association.The chairperson will then present the proposed members of the Nominating and Election committee at the September meeting of the Faculty Association for approval.Simple majority vote by the Faculty Association will constitute approval.If a slate of proposed members of the Nominating and Election committee is not passed by the Faculty Association, proposals for revisions of the Nominating and Election committee will be solicited from the floor.
B. A proposed slate of officers will be presented in the Faculty Voice, which will be delivered to the faculty at least one week before the February meeting of the Faculty Association. Additional nominees will be accepted at the February meeting.
C. An association member may be a candidate for only one office in any election.
D. The final slate of nominees and the instructions for absentee voting will be presented in the Faculty Voice, which will be delivered to the faculty at least one week prior to the March Faculty Association meeting.
E. If no candidate for an office receives a majority of the votes cast, a run-off election will be held at the April meeting between the two candidates who received the most votes.
F. If a faculty member is not able to attend either the regular election at the March meeting or the run-off election in April, the person may request an absentee ballot fromindividuals on each campus designated by the Nomination and Election committee who will record the names of those submitting absentee ballots before the election.The ballot must be submitted in person to the designee prior to the appropriate meeting. |

| Publications |
A. The official name of the Faculty Newsletter is The Faculty Voice.
B. The Faculty Voice will be distributed at least one week prior to each regularly scheduled Faculty Association meeting and at other times as deemed appropriate by the executive committee.
C. The secretary retains responsibility for publications of the Faculty Association but may appoint editors to assist in those tasks.
Ratification completed by the Faculty Association on March 21, 2000.
