GTCC Cheerleading Requirements

We are delighted to hear of your interest in participating as a member of the 2010-2011 GTCC Cheerleading Team. A tryout will be held on Friday, April 9th 2010. Practices for Tryouts will be starting on Monday April 5th, 2010. You must be present at all practices
in order to tryout on Friday April 9th, so please adjust your schedules as such. Warm-ups will begin at 1:45pm and tryouts will begin at 2:00pm, ending at 4pm. The tryout process will take several hours due to the fact that you will be taught material to be preformed along with the material that you bring with you. A registration form and wavier must be completed before a tryout is permitted for any participant. It is preferred that you bring all forms with you the first day of tryouts. A *mandatory* camp will be scheduled toward the end of the summer. If you do not attend camp it will lead to your termination from the team. Tryout Requirements

NO parents, family, friends, or boyfriends/girlfriends are allowed while participants are learning material or during the actual tryout!!

Individual Cheer (prepare before arrival) - see cheer requirements below

Double Toe Touch (best of 2 series will be scored)

Tumbling is not a requirement but strongly suggested

Chant & Dance (taught at tryouts) - will be performed in small groups

Males trying out will be required to do some stunting

Stunting may be required to show your abilities

Dress Code

• Clothing must be plain, generic/logos of any kind are not permitted
• Dark color shorts and no slick shorts
• Light colored T-shirt (a fitted T would be sufficient)
• Sports BRA!!!!
• Hair pulled away from face
• NO jewelry
• A polished look is recommended

Cheer Requirements

Individual Cheer (prepared before arrival)

• At least 4 lines long
• Must include 1 jump (toe touch preferred) / Tumbling optional
• Use GTCC related adjectives (green, black, white, Titans, etc)
