Welcome to the Two's!

We wanted to let our new families know some information about our classroom.  Mrs. Jennifer is a lead teacher and works four 10 hour days from 7:00-5:30.  Ms. Michele is an assistant teacher and works five days a week from 7:30-4:30.   We also have several part time & sub people who work with us as needed and available.  Being a part of GTCC, we also have several students who observe and interact with our classroom.  These students are from GTCC, Ragsdale and others places throughout the county.  We greatly encourage parent participation in our classroom.  The family is the most important part of the child's life; we are here to support you!  We have scheduled parent progress conferences in Jan and July.  We want you to feel free to ask us questions at anytime.

The following in some general information about our classroom that we feel it's important for you to know:

• We can have 16 children in our classroom.
• We do not use bibs.
• We only use open top cups.
• We prefer 2 piece outfits (no onesies) since we take everyone to the potty.
• All children are encouraged to sit on the potty.  The diaper changing table is used for changing BMs only.
• We prefer diapers over Pull-ups; Pull-ups cost more for less.  They also do not hold as much as diapers and they do not encourage going potty.  If you are to the point of wanting to use pull-ups we recommend underwear instead.
• We encourage our children to do things more independently.
• Our classroom is typically more active than the toddler room.  Therefore your child will likely see more bumps, scrapes, bruises, etc.
• Your child will need at least two complete changes of clothes in his/her cubby until we are ready to begin the potty training process with underwear.
• We encourage using spoons while eating.  We also use smocks when doing art.   However, you need to know that your child will get dirty.
• Occasionally we use the "big Playground".  The equipment is higher off the ground, and the bikes have pedals which have to be ridden on the"track".
