Curriculum: Toddler Daily Schedule

The GTCC Children’s Center is a 5-star child care facility that is located on the Jamestown campus. We are housed in the Service Careers Building. The Center is open from 7:00 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We care for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years.

Toddler Daily Schedule

(Schedule is flexible and responsive to individual and group needs, weather, etc)

7:00 - 8:25	Greet children: help say goodbye to parents, free choice in centers (dramatic play / pretend, blocks, music, science, art, sensory table, toys / fine motor, gross motor / large muscle, books / language)
8:25 - 8:30	Clean-up; wash hands and prepare for breakfast
8:30 - 9:00	Breakfast, clean up and wash hands
9:00 - 9:15	Free choice and prepare for outside.
9:15 - 10:00	Outdoor play or vigorous indoor activities Diapering
10:00 - 11:00	Centers with added materials / activities (dramatic play / pretend, blocks, music, science, art, sensory table, toys / fine motor, gross motor / large muscle, books / language)
11:00 - 11:10	Clean-up and prepare for group time
11:10 - 11:20	Teacher led group time (other teacher prepares lunch)
11:20 - 11:50	Wash hands, lunch
11:50 - 12:00	Wash face / hands, prepare for rest
12:00 - 1:30	Rest time (teachers clean up)
1:30 - 2:30	Quiet activities, cuddling time, diapering
2:30 - 3:00	Wash hands, snack.
3:00 - 3:30	Centers with added materials / activities (dramatic play / pretend, blocks, music, science, art, sensory table, toys / fine motor, gross motor / large muscle, books / language) Apply sunscreen for outside play
3:30 - 4:10	Outdoor play or vigorous indoor activities
4:10 - 4:20	Teacher led afternoon group time, diapering
4:20 - 5:30	Free choice in all centers (dramatic play / pretend, blocks, music, science, art, sensory table, toys / fine motor, gross motor / large muscle, books / language) Diapering, prepare for departure.

*As children leave, help parents and children reunite. Throughout day: diapering as needed and children's self-help encouraged during activities and routines.
