The Guilford County Board of Elections will provide advanced training to citizens serving as or interested in becoming election officials and poll workers. The course will cover all aspects of precinct management and polling place duties, standards of conduct and North Carolina laws governing elections and procedures. All current election officials and any citizen interested in becoming a poll worker are eligible for this course.
General Contractor's Prep This course has four components - making students aware of the requirements to becoming a Residential General Contractor in North Carolina, information on the application process, information on the state licensing exam, and study of working in the field through an examination of blueprint reading and other topics - building terminology, estimating, safety, employment regulations, building and administrative codes.
Life, Accident, and Health
Under the approval of the NC Department of Insurance, this course prepares and certifies you to sit for the State Licensing Examination for Life, Health, and Accident. Upon successful completion of the course, you will have the knowledge of types of individual life insurance, annuities, policy provisions, health insurance policies and relevant NC statutes and regulations. Textbooks are required and must be purchased from the Jamestown Campus Bookstore PRIOR to class.
If you are at least 18 years old, have never been convicted of a felony, have a High School diploma or GED and can satisfactorily complete this workshop, you can apply for your Notary Public Commission. This class will teach you what you need to know before applying for your Notary Commission.
The Nursing Assistant program consists of 198 hours of classroom and clinical studies and takes approximately three months to complete. Students are prepared to provide personal hands-on care to patients, residents, and clients. Nurse Assistants work in a variety of health care settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, private homes, home health agencies, assisted living facilities,hospice, and medical doctor's offices. Successful completion of the program qualifies the student to sit for the NC state nursing assistant test and state certification.
The Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) has grown rapidly to become a major project management qualification in North America and Internationally. Rapid growth has seen the number of PMPs jump from the start of the qualification in the 1980s to approximately 10,000 in January 2000 and to a current total of 265,000 PMPs in 170 countries in 2008.
GTCC's Safe Driving program is focused on improving safety awareness in the community. The goal of the program is to improve drivers' behaviors and reduce traffic crashes through education.
