If you are looking for a position that could launch your career in Medical Records, this entry level Electronic Medical Records training is for you. As a Medical Records Clerk you will be responsible for maintaining active records according to procedures, file documents into the medical records, audit records and report findings of audits, maintain and process all releases to authorized persons and provide other administrative support duties, as needed. This is an important job in the Health Information Management field. Salary Range: $7-$9 per hour for entry level positions with potential to earn more with additional training and experience.
This is a hybrid course, a combination of 33 hours face to face and 163 hour of online instruction.
• Medical Terminology • Understanding healthcare facilities and the variety of health information systems • Understanding the variety of healthcare professions and certifications involved in Health Information Management • HIPAA, privacy and security of records and release of information • The functions, content and organization of health records • Filing and retrieval of paper records • Processing of paper and electronic records • Records assembly and analysis • History and evolution of electronic health records • Working with clinicians in updating an changing health records • AND Hands-on training with a fully-functional demo version of the Spring Charts Electronic Medical Records software system.
