Energy Weatherization Crew Member

Instructional content introduced in this class examines the critical performance factors of buildings, which impact health, safety, comfort, energy efficiency and durability. Students will receive hands on training that will focus on areas of health and safety on the job site, air sealing, insulation placement, sealing ductwork, and using blower door guided air sealing techniques to effectively weatherize a dwelling.

Also introduced will be hands-on equipment operation including Blower door, Duct Blast, Zonal air pressure testing, FLIR camera operation and other tools utilized in home energy audits and  guidelines for analyzing potential retrofits.

Upon completion, students will have a base knowledge to sit for national certification exams such as Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst Certification Model and BPI Whole House Air Leakage Control Installer.


Salary Range: $11 - $14 per hour for entry level positions with potential to earn more with additional training and experience

This 68 hour training includes:

• Health and safety on the job site

• Air sealing techniques

• Insulation placement

• Sealing ductwork

• Blower door guided air sealing techniques to effectively weatherize a dwelling.

• Math and computation skills

Requirements to register for this Quick Jobs class:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Computer Skills
• 1 - 3 years of experience in Construction, HVAC, or Installing Insulation
• Take a WIN Assessment and demonstrate level 4 skills.
