Referring Students To DAS
|
| Guilford Technical Community College does not make pre- or post-admission inquiries or referrals based on an assumption that a student has a disabling condition. It is the responsibility of the student with a disability to initiate the request for accommodations and/or services by contacting the disAbility Access Services Office. |
| |
If an instructor suspects a student may be experiencing difficulty because of a disability, and the student has not disclosed a disability or shared information from the disAbility Access Services office, the instructor may include disAbility Access Services when discussing available campus resources. |
| |
| If a student discloses a disability, or requests accommodations based on a disability; ask for the accommodation form ( i.e., green sheet) which the student should have from the disAbility Access Services office. If the student does not have the green sheet, refer the student to disAbility Access Services. |
| |
| PLEASE NOTE: Accommodations should not be provided without appropriate documentation ( i.e., the green sheet) from the disAbility Access Services office. Policies and procedures have been established for everyone's protection! For further information, please contact a DAS staff member for a copy of When Faculty are TOO Accommodating! |
