General Information
|
| How do I apply for scholarships? |
At GTCC, we use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for our scholarship application. You need to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1, and hopefully before March 15. You also need to complete and return any forms sent to you by the Financial Aid Office. Even if you are advised that you do not have “need” or do not qualify for the grant programs, you need to complete and return these forms in order to have a complete file with our office. A complete file is a completed scholarship application.
When selecting candidates for scholarships, students meeting the criteria are ranked according to their file complete date. This means that it is important for the student to complete and return forms as quickly as possible.
When we become aware of outside scholarships (those offered in the community or from sources other than the school), we post the information in the form of an announcement on GT Cruiser. If possible, application materials are included as an attachment.
Other sources for scholarship searches are listed on the GTCC Financial Aid web page at www.gtcc.edu/services/finaid under the heading GTCC Scholarship Information, Scholarship Searches. |

| Where can I find a listing of GTCC scholarships? |
| The GTCC Financial Aid web page has a listing of scholarships under the heading GTCC Scholarship Information. Unless otherwise noted, the application for the scholarships in this listing is the FAFSA. Some of the scholarships require additional information, and that is noted. For a few of the scholarships a separate application is required, and eligible students will be sent an invitation to apply. |
