Greater Greensboro Consortium
|
The Greater Greensboro Consortium (GGCC) is a program designed to expand the options available to students who are enrolled in eight colleges and universities in the surrounding area. Its purpose is to assist students when a particular course is not offered on a student's home campus or on a schedule that fits the student's academic program.

Participating Institutions
Bennett College, Elon College, Greensboro College, Guilford Technical Community College, High Point University, NC A&T University, and UNC-Greensboro.

Guidelines
Consortium students must be degree seeking students, currently enrolled in one of the participating institutions.
Students must have the permission of the coordinating officer (normally the Registrar) from their Home Campus. However, at UNC-G, The Office of Academic Advising and Support Services grants permission for students wanting to take courses through the Consortium. GTCC students may pick-up a Consortium Form in the Records Office.
Consortium students may not cross-register for courses inappropriate to the degree they seek or to their class status.
There is no limit to the number of courses that Consortium Students may take at other institutions, although students are normally expected to be enrolled for at least half of their course work in any one academic term on their own Home Campus.
This program is not intended for courses that are designed to be self supporting, so independent studies are not appropriate.
Students eligible to participate in the GGC must pick up the consortium form from the Records Office.
After filling out the form and gaining the approval of the Curriculum Dean and the Registrar the student will process a schedule adjustment to register for consortium hours. Any additional tuition/fee due must be validated with the Cashier. the student must take the appropriate copies of the form to the Registrar's Office of the Host institution to determine the first available time that consortium registration will be accepted.
After registering with the Host institution, the student will return to the Home campus, Records Office, with confirmation of registration and secure a parking permit. |

Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are paid to the Home campus. Fees are not charged by the Host campus for cross-registration courses unless there are special charges (such as laboratory fees, insurance, course materials, etc.). In these cases, consortium students must pay any charges that are charged to the students enrolled at the Host campus.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid is awarded, disbursed, and accounted for by the financial aid officer on the student's Home campus. No funds are exchanged among participating institutions.

Parking Permits
Parking permits will be supplied by the Home institution for use at the Host institution. Upon completion of their registration at the Host campus, students should contact the parking and traffic office of their Home campus. Students will need to show their receipts of registration to their Home institution in order to obtain parking permits. GTCC students obtain their parking permits in the GTCC Records Office.
