Drop/Add Procedure
|
At the beginning of each semester there is a Drop/Add period.
Students may Drop or Add classes within this designated time period in person in the Applied Technology lab.
Drop codes are listed on the back of the registration and drop/add forms.
The drop/add period is the first four class days of the semester, including Saturdays.
Students may drop or add classes during the drop/add period without the instructors signature, as long as there are available seats in the class.
To add a class after the drop/add period, the signature of the instructor and the department chair is required, and the transaction has to be performed in Records.
To drop a class after the drop/add period, student's must obtain the signature of the class instructor and bring the signed form to the Records Office. Drops are accepted through the 10th week of the semester (except for summer term).
It is the student's responsibility to drop their class(es) if they are not going to attend, complete a class, or if they are failing a class. Final withdrawal dates are posted and announced. Failure to officially withdraw from a class will result in an "F" grade.
If a class is dropped during the refund period and a refund is desired, the student must take the signed drop/add form to the cashier with the control (transaction) number for processing. A refund will be mailed to the student in approximately four to six weeks.
No refund is given after the 10% point of the semester/term.
Refund Policy for Curriculum Students: In compliance with current State Board policy: a 75-percent refund may be made upon request by the student if the student officially withdraws from the class(es) prior to or on the official 10-percent point of the semester if the student officially withdraws from the college. Requests for refunds will not be considered after the 10 percent point. The 10 percent point may be obtained from instructors, Finance Office, or the Records Office. |
