  STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION GUIDE

There are four steps to complete in order to apply for the online degree program at GTCC.

1.
Submit your online application through the College Foundation of North Carolina:

http://www.cfnc.org/onlineapps/info_onlineapps.jsp

This website allows you to complete your GTCC application for admission and your FAFSA application for financial aid.

2.
Complete our online questionnaire.

This questionnaire gives you a chance to explore the requirements of this online degree while testing your computer skills.

Online students need to feel comfortable on the computer. You need the ability to download software, attach documents to emails and post messages on discussion boards.

3.
Complete the Placement Test OR submit your SAT/ACT scores.

Students in this program complete a set curriculum to receive a guaranteed spot in these courses.

Because of our curriculum plans, students must not require any developmental writing or reading courses, and students must place into MAT-070 or higher.

This means that to be in the online degree program, students must achieve minimum scores on the Placement Test or the SAT/ACT. The scores needed are shown at right.

4.
Submit an official copy of your high school transcripts or GED scores to the GTCC Admissions office at PO Box 309, Jamestown, NC 27282.

If you attended other colleges before applying to GTCC, you must request an official copy of these transcripts be sent to our Admissions office.

5.

Once you complete these steps, the online degree program coordinator will contact you within two weeks.
