Students who sign up for an online class are expected to:
- Understand that online classes are reading and writing intensive and require basic computer skills.
This means sending e-mails, posting messages, navigating websites and using computer software.
- Work well with weekly deadlines.
Most instructors assign weekly activities or assessments to help you navigate your course work.
- Possess convenient access to a healthy computer that is connected to the Internet.
(See our technical recommendations.)
- Dedicate six to nine hours per week to each course.
Online classes require the same amount of time as traditional classes.
- Visit their online class during the FIRST week of classes.
Finding the syllabus is the best way to start a successful semester.
