Welcome to GTCC Assessment Center!

Mission Statement: The Assessment Center provides testing and proctoring services for the college and surrounding communities.  We maintain and adhere to all standards set forth by the National College Testing Association.

GTCC has Assessment Centers located on the Jamestown, High Point, and Greensboro campuses. Please select the Locations and Schedule tab for more information about the individual locations and hours of operation.

General Testing

Placement Testing - GTCC uses placement tests to accurately evaluate a student's skills in Mathematics, English (Writing), and Reading. Placement testing is available on the Jamestown Campus on a walk-in basis, while testing on the Greensboro and High Point require an appointment. We offer online courses for review to assist you in your preparation of taking the placement test, whether it is the first time, or you are considering retesting.

If you have a GTCC Titan Account

  • Log into Moodle at online.gtcc.edu.  Use your Titan account for your username/password.
  • Use the Search Courses text box to look for "Placement Test Review".
  • Select "Placement Test Review" then "Enroll Me"

If you do not have a GTCC Titan Account

  • Go to Moodle at public.gtcc.edu.  Create your own account.  The last step is the confirm your account via an email message.
  • Return to public.gtcc.edu to log in.  Use the Search Courses text box to look for "Placement Test Review"
  • Select "Placement Test Review" then "Enroll Me".

Faculty Make-Up/Online Class Testing - We offer proctored testing services for students registered in GTCC coursework. The courses may be developmental education courses, web-enhanced courses, or completely distance education.

disAbilty Access Services Accommodations Testing - Testing accommodations for students needing separate quiet rooms for testing, or the use of a CCTV to enhance their testing experience. Please call our Assessment Center to schedule an appointment. Appointments are required to secure your testing accommodation.

Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE®) - The Test of Adult Basic Education is used for admission to our BLET, Math Success, and College Transitions programs. This test is only available for entrance into GTCC coursework. The test takes approximately an hour and a half per part, so please accommodate your testing time accordingly.
