Testing Services

The Assessment Center offers both general and special testing.  For more information about these testing services, please select the service below.

General Testing

• Faculty Make-Up Testing
We offer proctored testing for students who are currently registered in GTCC Coursework.  The courses may be developmental education courses, web-enhanced courses, or completely distance education.  For faculty information, please log into the Faculty/Staff Intranet and select from the Faculty Resources the Faculty Testing Instruction Form.

• disAbility Access Services Accommodations Testing
The Assessment Center offers special testing accommodations for students needing separate quiet rooms for testing, or the use of a CCTV to enhance their testing experience.  Please call our Assessment Center to schedule an appointment.  Appointments are required to secure your testing accommodation.

• Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE®)
The Test of Adult Basic Education is used for admission to our BLET and Math Success programs.  The test takes approximately an hour and a half, so please accommodate your testing time accordingly.

Hours for General Testing

• Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 6:00pm (Closing at 7:00pm)
• Fridays, 8:00am - 11:00am (Closing at 12:00pm)
• Saturdays, 9:00am - 11:00am (Closing at 12:00pm)

Summer Hours

Beginning the week of May 7 and ending July 27, 2012, the college will close on Fridays at 12:00pm (noon).  This means in order to start a test on Fridays during that time period you must be in the Assessment Center on the Jamestown Campus by 11:00am.  The Greensboro and High Point Campuses must be scheduled for an appointment.

The Assessment Center offers Praxis Practice Exams, through our partnership with UNCG.  Please call to schedule an appointment or for more information about the Praxis Practice Exams we offer.

• Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 3:00pm (During Special Testing Periods)
