College Level Examination Prep (CLEP®) Testing

The College Level Examination Program allows students to save money, save time, and achieve their college goals. Developed by the College Board, students who earn passing scores on CLEP® exams can earn college credit and accelerate their education by allowing them to move into more advanced classes sooner.

The CLEP® helps you:

- Save time.
- Save money. Each CLEP® exam is $97 ($77 CLEP + $20 Admin).
- Graduate on time. CLEP® can help you complete your degree program if you are a few credits shy of graduation.

GTCC accepts 25* of the 33 CLEP® exams available for course credit. CLEP® credit may be awarded at GTCC with a score of fifty (50) or above from the following: CLEP® CREDIT ACCEPTED AT GTCC. To earn course credit through CLEP®, you must request that your scores be sent to GTCC. The Registrar will review the scores and recommend courses for credit on an Advanced Standing Certificate, which is sent to the appropriate department chair. The department chair must approve and return the form to Enrollment Services, in order to receive course credit.

Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 3:00pm (by appointment only, during our Special Testing Periods)

What you need to bring on the test day

On the date of your appointment, please bring the following:

• 2 forms of identification (one government issued ID, and an additional ID)
• Receipt confirming payment of $20 administration fee
• Check, money order, or credit card for payment of $77 made out to CLEP®

Items the Assessment Center will supply on the test day

• Scratch paper
• Pencil
