Qualifications For Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance
• Veterans with at least 181 days continuous duty.
• Service people who contributed toward their education through the Veterans Education Assistance Program while on active duty.
• Those who were discharged from active duty for a service connected disability.
• Sons, daughters, wives and husbands of deceased or totally and permanently disabled veterans whose death or disability occurred while in military service.
• Eligible members of the Selective Reserves and the National Guard.
• Members of the armed forces who entered active duty on July 1, 1985, and contributed to their education under the Montgomery Bill.
North Carolina Requirements:
Admissions Application Official High School/GED transcript Official transcripts from ALL previously attended colleges Take Placement Tests (if applicable) Formal evaluation of college transcript(s) Acceptance to the College Dept. of Veterans Affairs Application Copy of DD-214 (Member 4) (if applying for the 1st time) Dept. of Veterans Affairs Change of Program/Place of Training Application (if transferring from another school having used VA Education Benefits) DD2384 Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) Active Reserves/NC National Guard
