    • Check with library staff if you need more time

The primary purpose of the GTCC Libraries' public access computers is for research, work on class assignments, or study.   Priority will always be given to GTCC students needing computers for research and study purposes.

  • GTCC Library staff monitors computer activity to ensure computers are available to meet student research needs.
  • You must be prepared to present your current GTCC Student ID upon request.
  • The library is a place to learn.  We welcome you and expect behavior appropriate to a place of education.
  • Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
  • NOT Allowed Uses of Computers (you will be asked to stop)
    • viewing material judged offensive by library staff
    • downloading software without library staff approval
    • peer-to-peer like LimeWire, BitTorrent or Gnutella
    • any activity library staff judges to be inappropriate for a place of learning and to other people

If you use a GTCC computer for any activity judged inappropriate by library staff, you could be asked to leave. Subsequent offenses could mean suspension from computer use or the library building for the semester or longer. Illegal acts can result in prosecution.

  • User Priorities:
    • GTCC Curriculum Students (research)
    • GTCC Curriculum Students (online course assignments)
    • GTCC Faculty and Staff
    • Affiliated Institution Users
    • Others (includes Continuing Education)

During busy periods, library staff may ask anyone to relinquish their computer to a student who needs it for research or study.  Library staff may ask anyone violating library or GTCC policies to leave the library.

  • Failure to follow the above may result in disciplinary action or loss of library privileges.
