The newest installations of AV for classrooms have a red document camera we call the "ladybug"Document Caamera Photo
(lumensDC130).

 

The ladybug is so attractive that we are experiencing ladybug envy. If you, too, would like one of these for your classroom email us for information about how your department can order one for you or include it in next year's planning unit.

On the computer, in the "My Documents" file you will find "Manuals". These are pfd's with lots of good info.

We have boiled these instructions down to the basics; click here for the Word document which you can print.

There are 3 remotes in the desk drawer. To turn on the projector, push the red POWER button at the top of the all black remote. Boxlight Remote

 

Turn on the computer with the power button on the front of the tower under the instructor’s desk. The monitor may also need to be turned on.

 


 

You can control the computer volume with the volume knob on the wall.

At the end of class, turn this volume to a lower setting so that you do not accidentally blast out the eardrums of the next group of folks using this room.

You need to switch the "input" using the projector remote. As you push the button "input' with the remote pointing to the projector in the ceiling, look at the screen and watch the progression of "inputs". The computer is "Computer 1"

DVD-Video Remote

REMEMBER: POINT THIS REMOTE AT THE DVD/VCR; NOT AT THE PROJECTOR.
(You feel really stupid if you do this.)

To show a video, turn on the DVD/VCR mounted under the instructor’s desk.

Use the projector remote to switch the input from computer to video by pushing the INPUT button until you find the COMPOSITE VIDEO channel.

On the DVD/VCR player, you can switch between VCR mode for VHS tapes and DVD mode for DVD’s and other discs. Buttons for play, stop, fast-forward and rewind are also on the front of the DVD/VCR player. Or, you can just use the black and gray SAMSUNG remote.

The DVD/VCR volume is controlled with the knob on the wall.

 

You can also play a DVD from the computer.

 

 

 

Lumens RemoteTo display transparencies or other objects, turn on the document camera by pressing the red power button on the face of the machine or use the red remote. The indicator light will turn from blue to red.

Use projector remote to switch the input by pushing the INPUT button until you find the COMPUTER ANALOG 2 channel.

Place any object under the camera. Use a white sheet of paper underneath transparencies. And adjust the camera head up and down as needed.

To record and store images use the CAPTURE button on the red remote. These images will be saved on the document camera for future use. Display them by using the PLAY button on the red remote.

To hook up your own laptop, hook the VGA cable found in the cable cubby to your laptop including the audio cable and power outlet.Turn on your laptop. Use the SOURCE button on the document camera or red remote to switch to the EXTERNAL source.

Jump up and down for joy.

Then,

Shutdown by pushing the red POWER button on the projector remote twice.

Shutdown the computer by using the start menu on the desktop and choose “Shutdown”.

Turn off the DVD/VCR and document camera.

Return the remotes to the top drawer.

The ladybug will have a red, glowing light when it is off. It displays a green light when it is on. If it is not off, turn it off manually by pressing the on/off button.
