Department News
For the second year in a row, the Design IV students and instructors had the opportunity to work with the Greensboro Symphony to design their direct mail material for the upcoming season. Students worked in groups of 3 or 4 to design a 12 page booklet. The final design for the booklet was chosen by Greensboro Symphony representatives in April and will be in print by mid summer, 2008.
Once again, Mrs. Feliciano has arranged for department students to compete in the contest for a t-shirt design for the 2008 Fall Urban Ministries CROP Walk. The Urban Ministries committee will choose a design from one of the nine entries that were submitted for the contest.
The department has received new iMac computers for the digital imaging lab adjacent to the photo studio and for the GH 115 lab. This will allow the department to finally put a fourth lab in place in GH 105 for use in Design I, Design II and Typography classes. This lab has been in the department planning unit for several years and we are thrilled that students in first year design and typography classes will now have access to computers during those classes.
