2nd year - dental hygiene
The second year broadens the student’s exposure to a much wider variety of clinical experiences and includes a concentrated examination of dental pharmacology and nutrition as it relates specifically to dental health. The student is introduced to current concepts in dental materials and professional development and assesses, develops and implements dental health programs in the community. During the second year, students are eligible to sit for the comprehensive National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, and upon successful completion of this examination, will be eligible to take the regional clinical board exam in June following graduation.
