JAMESTOWN - Graduation for the 20 members of the 20th class of the Guilford Technical Community College Firefighter Academy will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in the Joseph S. Koury Auditorium on the Jamestown campus. Commencement speaker will be Jonathan Hill, a firefighter for the City of Greensboro. The academy is a 21-week training program that runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. five days per week. Upon completion the cadets will have their Firefighter I and II certification and also be certified by the state in hazardous materials, technical rescuer and EMT. Each cadet will have approximately 820 training hours. The graduates: From Advance - Steven Lewis. From Bear Creek -Taylor Scott. From Browns Summit - Zachary Moore. From Burlington - Raphael Dech. From Greensboro - Ryan Crise, Kenneth Goodman, Matthew Holliday and Jeff Wilson. From Kernersville - Joshua Canipe, Alexander Cook and Kevin Davis. From Jamestown - Dragan Grujicic and David Guffey.
