20th CLASS WILL GRADUATE FROM FIREFIGHTER ACADEMY

JAMESTOWN - Graduation for the 20 members of the 20th class of the Guilford Technical Community College Firefighter Academy will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in the Joseph S. Koury Auditorium on the Jamestown campus. Commencement speaker will be Jonathan Hill, a firefighter for the City of Greensboro.

The academy is a 21-week training program that runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. five days per week. Upon completion the cadets will have their Firefighter I and II certification and also be certified by the state in hazardous materials, technical rescuer and EMT. Each cadet will have approximately 820 training hours.
