“A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN” AUDITIONS TO BE HELD AT GTCC

JAMESTOWN - Auditions for "A Moon for the Misbegotten," which has been presented on Broadway five times since 1947, will be held 3-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, and 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, on GTCC's Jamestown campus.
Auditions will be in room 111 of the college's Fine Arts Theatre in the Koury Hospitality Careers Center.

The play by Eugene O'Neill will be presented at 8 p.m. March 22-24 and March 29-31 under the direction of visiting artist Patty Adkins. Adkins, a graduate of the GTCC theater program, is a member of the Fly-by-Night Theater Company in Greensboro.
The play requires five actors, four men and a woman, according to June Guralnick, director of the GTCC Theatre program. Guralnick has asked that those who audition have a resume or a written statement about prior theatre experience. Each person also should have a one-minute prepared monologue, she said.

"I am excited about directing this wonderful play," Adkins said. "It is produced less frequently than some of O'Neill's other plays, but I strongly believe it is one of the best American plays and has terrific roles for performers," she said.
