JAMESTOWN - Angela Dawn Tevepaugh has been named Chief of Campus Police at Guilford Technical Community College, and has already assumed her duties as of June 20, 2012.

Chief Tevepaugh replaces Chief Jerry Clark after 13 years of service as head of the GTCC Campus Police Department.

A native of Taylorsville, N.C., her extensive career in law enforcement spans more than 19 years.  Most recently, she served as Assistant Chief of Police for East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. for the past three years.  Tevepaugh spent a portion of her career with the Town of Davidson Police Department as a patrol sergeant and more than 14 years in various capacities with the UNC Charlotte Police Department.

Her extensive educational and training background includes a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a master's degree in Organizational Management, both from Pfeiffer University.  Tevepaugh was trained at the FBI National Academy and is a certified Law Enforcement instructor.  As a lifelong learner, she is continuing her studies by pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Disaster and Incident Management online at Western Carolina University.

While at Pfeiffer University, Tevepaugh was a student-athlete playing field hockey, softball and running cross-country for the Falcons.

She also served as a foster parent in Pitt County while working at East Carolina.  Tevepaugh hopes to become certified to be a foster parent now in Guilford County.

Tevepaugh states, "I am excited to be at GTCC.  I like the close-knit environment and our college is one of the premier community colleges in the state and has an excellent national reputation.  The college is very supportive of our department.  All of our staff are sworn police officers…not just campus security."

As for hobbies, Tevepaugh loves anything outdoors - hiking, fishing, camping and being on the water in her boat.  In addition, spending time with her family is a top priority.
