BUSINESS TECHNOLOGIES DIVISION HONORS 20 INSTRUCTORS AT GTCC



JAMESTOWN - Lynda Hodge of Trinity and Ira Johnson of Thomasville were recently named recipients of the Gladys S. Sears Teaching Chair awards in the Business Technologies Division at Guilford Technical Community College.
Hodge and Johnson, who each received a $2,500 stipend, were among 20 instructors honored.
Hodge is an associate professor for accounting and business administration. Johnson is an instructor in entertainment technologies.

Samuel Chinnis of Greensboro, an instructor in global logistics, received the Kenneth O. Vaughn Excellence in Teaching Award. He received $100 and a plaque.

Hodge, Hill and Elizabeth McCain of Jamestown each received two Student Evaluation of Instruction Awards that were given by the Business Technologies Division. These awards were given for the spring and summer 2011 semesters.
Others receiving student evaluation certificates were:

•    Spring semester (full-time instructors) - Linda Beitz of Kernersville; Nicki Dodd , Anna Hargrove  and Elaine Simmons, all of Greensboro; Crystal Drum and Michele Prairie, both of Jamestown; and Linda Johnson of High Point.
(Part-time instructors) Forrest Buck of High Point, Joey McNeil of Greensboro and Phillip Straughan of Mebane.
•    Summer session (full-time) - David Billings and Mary Skrabec, both of Greensboro; and Daniel Reavis of Kernersville.
