COMMUNITY COLLEGES INCREASE TUITION FOR FALL 2011 SEMESTER

JAMESTOWN - Tuition for all of the state's 58 community colleges has been increased by $10 per credit hour for the fall semester, according to Sonia Johnson, bursar in the finance department at Guilford Technical Community College.
The increase means that in-state students will pay $66.50 per credit hour and out-of-state students will pay $258.50 per credit hour.
The increases, approved earlier by the N.C. General Assembly, were effective July 1.
The General Assembly also made changes in tuition waivers. The colleges may no longer waive tuition and registration fees for faculty or staff.
