GTCC ENROLLMENT HITS 15,043

JAMESTOWN - Enrollment at Guilford Technical Community College passed the 15,000 mark after classes started Aug. 16 for the school's 53rd year, breaking enrollment records for the 13th consecutive year.

An historic 15,043 students have registered - an increase of 11.1 percent over last year's record enrollment, according to information released from the office of Dr. Alison Wiers, associate vice president of student learning and success.

The previous record enrollments were the 13,520 posted last fall and 13,594 for spring 2010.

Enrollment has more than doubled since 6,224 students enrolled for the 1997-98 fall semester.
