JAMESTOWN - The second annual Guilford Technical Community College Foundation golf tournament will be held Wednesday, May 25, at Grandover Resort to raise scholarship funds for students.
The event is co-sponsored by Technology Concepts & Design Inc. (TCDI), a local litigation software company in Greensboro and Reston, VA.
The GTCC/TCDI Golf Classic will be played on the east and west courses at Grandover, which will accommodate 200 or more golfers.
The inaugural tournament raised $63,000. "We are hoping to top that total this year," said Margot Horney, the foundation's coordinator of resource development and alumni affairs.
"We are fortunate to have TCDI as a co-sponsor and feel that this is an excellent company to help us reach scholarship goals for our students," Horney said.
Other sponsors are Samet/SRS (reception); High Point Bank (gift bag sponsor); an anonymous lunch sponsor; Mercedes Benz of Greensboro (hole-in-one sponsor); three silver sponsors and a variety of hole sponsors.
"We still have several sponsorship opportunities available, including 20 holes which need sponsors. Sponsorship of a hole costs $1,000 and includes two golfers," Horney said.
Participants in the tournament can play for $250 per golfer, and the fee will includes18 holes of golf, golf cart, a golf shirt, goodie bag, lunch and dinner reception with a silent auction.
