Meetings to Address Ways to Save Energy in Buildings

MEETINGS TO ADDRESS WAYS TO SAVE ENERGY IN BUILDINGS

GREENSBORO -- Andrew J. Courts Jr. of N.C. Energy Partners will lead two discussions at Guilford Technical Community College's Greensboro campus later this month concerning "Ten Easy and Cost-Effective Energy Saving Renovations."

The free meetings will be 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday (April 26) and Thursday (April 28) in room 152 of the Continuing Education Center, 3505 E. Wendover Avenue. To reserve a place at the meeting, contact EasyEnergySavings@gmail.com.

The meetings are designed to help homeowners, landlords, tenants, investment property owners, building managers, Realtors, mortgage bankers and anyone interested in energy efficiency.

Subjects to be discussed include what Courts describes as "easy and inexpensive remediation projects to tighten your house's envelope and start saving money every month." There will be demonstrations of duct sealing, air sealing, blown-in insulation, crawl space insulation and radiant barrier.

The meetings are sponsored by N.C. Energy Partners, Duke Energy, Lowe's and GTCC.

Courts is certified as a Green Building Advisement/Energy Efficiency Expert and Lead Building Scientist at N.C. Energy Partners.  He has 25 years of experience in real estate and energy efficiency.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a minor in agricultural economics from Clemson University. He did post-graduate study at Marquette University and has a certificate in non-profit management from Duke University.
