JAMESTOWN - Guilford Technical Community College students will showcase their talents during Student Presentation Day 9:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, April 16 on the ground floor of Medlin Campus Center on GTCC's Jamestown Campus, 601 High Point Road. The annual event sponsored by the GTCC Foundation gives students an opportunity to present an academic, technical or professional accomplishment related to a curriculum area.

This year's presentations will include displays, exhibits and demonstrations from students in the following programs: culinary, communications, business, early childhood, advertising and graphic design, art, cosmetology, English and humanities, psychology and developmental English.

In addition, the GTCC Music Ensemble, directed by GTCC Music Program Coordinator Dr. Mark Wheeler, will perform as the final act of the event at 11:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.

GTCC faculty, staff and students as well as the general public are invited to attend the free event.

"One of the rewarding parts of our jobs is being able to be part of the educational growth process in our students," said Megan Simpson, Student Presentation Day committee chair and associate professor of English at GTCC. "We've all watched one or several students not just do excellent work, but go beyond that - work that moves into the creative and exceptional arenas. Student Presentation Day provides a venue for showing off those 'sparks of genius.' This is the event that really demonstrates why we work at GTCC and represents our superior educational reputation."
