HIGH POINT - Tickets remain available for "An Evening With Larry Gatlin," a show featuring the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17.
The event will be in the indoor studio of GTCC's Larry Gatlin School of Entertainment Technology, 901 S. Main St.
The event will be limited to the sale of 150 tickets at a cost of $22 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased online through the GTCC Foundation at http://www.gtcc.edu/services/foundation/gatlin/index.html
There also are some spaces open for persons wanting to attend Gatlin's songwriting seminar. The seminar will be held 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the college's community room, H4 203.
The seminar is limited to 50 participants at a cost of $30 each. Registration can also be done online by clicking on the scrolling banner on the GTCC.edu homepage.
Gatlin, 62, has had a varied career as a soloist and in teaming with his brothers, Rudy and Steve. He won the Grammy Award for Best County Song in 1979 for "Broken Lady," and also was named top male vocalist of the year by the Academy of Country Music.
The Seminole, TX, native is best known for his hit songs with the Gatlin Brothers. His all-time smash hit was "All the Gold in California" in 1979 and "Houston (Means I'm One Day Closer to You)" in 1983.
