JAMESTOWN - Truc Trinh of High Point and Edward Suggs of Thomasville recently graduated from the Student Leadership Institute, a program sponsored by the N.C. Community College System in Raleigh.
Both students graduated from Guilford Technical Community College on May 13. The purpose of the two-day institute was to enhance leadership skills and better prepare students for professional and civic responsibilities.
Trinh, a native of Vietnam, will enroll in UNCG this fall. She was involved in several activities at GTCC, including being a Student Ambassador, vice-president for clubs in the Student Government Association, and participating in Phi Theta Kappa, International Student Association and Rotaract.
She also served on the campus police review committee, Diversity Committee, Internationalizing Curriculum Committee and Technology Committee. She was a volunteer for the GTCC Food Pantry.
Suggs, a graduate of Ephrata Senior High (PA), was a pre-engineering student at GTCC, and plans on enrolling in a four-year college.
