his course is designed to teach you the basic to intermediate basketry techniques and terms included in dyeing and weaving with reed. Participants may complete 2 -3 baskets within one term. In this course you will learn and practice the 5 basic skills of drawing in a fun, effective way which is inspired by Betty Edwards' best-selling book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. If you feel you have little talent and doubt you could ever learn to draw, this course will show you how to gain the skill you've always wanted. If you already draw, it will give you greater confidence in your ability and help deepen your artistic perception. Bring a 9" x 12" drawing pad and #2 pencil with eraser to the first class. Oil Painting

This course is for oil painters of all levels. Beginners, as you paint a still life, you will learn about the tools and methods that are unique to oil painting. Experienced painters, you will either paint a still life or do an independent project. Prerequisite: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain course or equivalent drawing experience. If painting the still life, bring a medium sized newsprint pad, soft vine charcoal and kneaded eraser to the first class. Additional supplies will be needed at student's cost. Stained Glass

This class accommodates novice to intermediate stained glass students. Students learn basic techniques for fabricating stained glass. Patterns may be of students' own design or selected from class patterns and can be fabricated in either copper foil or lead. Understanding Art: Surrealism

In this two-hour seminar, you will enjoy learning about the Surrealist movement and its major players. Find out how Dali used symbolism to depict the Spanish Civil War and how Rene Magritte juxtaposed everyday items in unexpected ways to create landscapes of fantasy. Never again will you be at a loss to discuss art at cocktail parties! Art history doesn't have to be dry and boring--we will have a lot of fun in this class, and learn some things too!
