This course is designed to teach you the basic basketry techniques and terms included in dyeing and weaving with reed. Participants may complete 2 -3 baskets within one term. In this course you will learn and practice the 5 basic skills of drawing in a fun, effective way which is inspired by Betty Edwards' best-selling book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. This course will feature a different subject every week, so students can come in, sit down, and start working in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with an instructor on hand who will offer help and answer questions. Please bring to class drawing paper and your choice of: graphite or colored pencils; pastels; conte crayons or charcoal. No lectures, no homework, no tests, no grades. Oil Painting

This course is for oil painters of all levels. Beginners, as you paint a still life, you will learn about the tools and methods that are unique to oil painting. Experienced painters, you will either paint a still life or do an independent project. Prerequisite: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain course or equivalent drawing experience. The Portrait Class

This course will introduce students of all skills level to the specifics of portraiture from artistic rendering to the nuts and bolts of securing a commission. Instructor will cover rendering and compositional techniques, and discuss the professional aspect of portraiture. Stained Glass Beginner

A beginning stained glass course employing the copper foil (Tiffany style) method of stained glass. The student will learn the art of cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering stained glass while completing a small panel from patterns provided by the instructor. Some cutting experience is recommended but not required. All tools will be provided. Additional expense $10 (lead & foil, etc) plus student supplied 2 - 3 12 inch square sheets of glass.
