This course introduces students to the basic principles of playing the guitar. Chord forms, playing technique and methods, strumming and picking patterns, and other beginning concepts will be introduced and practiced. Textbook is required. Beginner students will learn the techniques of quilting, including pattern and fabric selection while making and assembling quilt squares of various patterns for a sampler quilt, wall hanging, or pillows. Intermediate and advanced quilters will complete more difficult quilt designs using a variety of techniques, encouraging self-expression and creativity in design. Learn the art of freshwater fly fishing in this course covering techniques in casting, fishing, and a bit of fly tying. You will have a working knowledge of fly fishing from streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds through combination of lecture and hands on experience. One Saturday fishing trip will be scheduled.
