Industrial: Statistical Process Control

Course Description
Statistics is a scientific language. Statistical methods allow us to collect, classify, present, and interpret numbers. They are the tools we need to make accurate and reliable predictions and decisions about numerical data. The understanding of basic statistical methods helps us make accurate decisions based on reliable information. This program covers basic statistical concepts and terminology in a way that makes it easy to understand and apply. At successful completion of the program, participants will be able to use statistical process control with confidence and apply the techniques to their job.

Course Outline
Pre-test

Part 1:  Basic Statistics for Process Control
Variation (natural and unnatural)
Definition of probability
Expected occurrences and actual occurrences
Histograms
The normal distribution curve
Mean and range
Standard deviation
The definition of quality
The importance of the customer in defining quality

 

Part 2: Application of Basic Statistics to Process Control
Statistical Process Control and improving quality
The relationship between the distributions of individuals and sample averages
The control chart
The central line and the difference between control limits and specification limits
The power of the control chart
Process Capability Studies
Variables and attributes
X/bar and R charts, p charts
The pattern of points that shows the presence of a normal distribution
The three characteristics of control charts that show process control
The five signs that show a process may be out of control

Delivery Options
We will deliver training to suit your schedule. All programs can be conducted in increments as little as two hours per session or as long as 6 hours a session.

Cost
$100 per instructor hour plus a one-time $100 administrative fee per program.
