Management/Supervision: Providing Constructive Feedback

Course Description
This program helps participants provide constructive feedback in a way that builds openness and mutual respect, and promotes problem solving and learning. They will complete a variety of individual and group activities, skills practices, video segments, and large group discussions that explore the following topics:

* The Key actions for providing constructive feedback
* Techniques for encouraging involvement
* Techniques for handling challenging responses
* Planning a feedback conversation
* Providing constructive feedback
* Action planning

 

Course Outline

1. The components of constructive feedback: Constructive verses destructive 

2. Identifying opportunities to provide constructive feedback in their work environment. 

3. The challenges and benefits of providing constructive feedback. 

4. Self-evaluation of your current level of effectiveness at providing constructive feedback. 

5. Application of a set of key actions for providing constructive feedback to others. 

6. The Key Actions for providing constructive feedback:

* Convey your positive intent.
* Describe specifically what you have observed.
* State the impact of the behavior or action.
* Ask the other person to respond.
* Focus the discussion on solutions.

 

7. Conducting constructive feedback conversations with others that result in improved performance.

Outlines for each program can be tailored to suit your specific training needs.

6 hours 

Delivery Options
We will deliver training to suit your schedule. All programs can be conducted in increments as little as two hours per session or as long as 6 hours a session. 

Cost
$100 per instructor hour plus a one-time $100 administrative fee per program.
