| Advantages of the CRC |
“A new initiative in the State of NC that will prove to bring about change in the job market and
employability of the applicant.”
∞ The NC Career Readiness Certificate is a portable skills credential, ensuring employers
of a job seeker’s skills.
∞ For employers, the CRC offers a reliable means of determining whether a potential
employee has the necessary literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills to be job
ready.
∞ For job seekers, the CRC serves as a portable credential that can be just as meaningful to
employers than a high school degree or a resume citing experience in a different job
setting.
∞ The focus of the certification is workplace skills in reading, math, and locating
information.
∞ Any individual who gets a NC CRC will also get a National Career Readiness Certificate,
which allows you to take your certificate out of the state of NC.
∞ The certification is supported by the Governors Office (signed by governor), the NC
Community College System (goes on resume under education or specialized training), the
NC Employment Security Commission, and the Guilford County Workforce
Development Board.
∞ A certification that will further verify to an employer that you are trainable and you
possess the skills necessary to thrive in the workplace.
∞ Training is offered to those individuals who need to upgrade their skills. |
