Community Support Services

Community Service Programs consist of classes and programs designed to promote personal growth and enrichment. This may include courses in leisure activites, non-vocational skill development, learning a new language, discovering a new talent, arts and crafts and much more.
Courses are frequently implemented to meet specific requests from our adult community, therefore our course offerings grow and change each semester. Classes may be held on-site at a GTCC campus or at a local community center or Church. The Community Services Department (for Jamestown, High Point and Greensboro) offers over 800 classes per year and serve approximately 10,000 adult learners. |

| All staff in the NC Mental Health and Substance Abuse System must complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training specific to the required components of the community support service definition including crisis response within the first 90 days of employment. |

Individuals or Groups of Individuals from a Sponsor Agency may register in advance by mail
(must be received by GTCC 2 days prior to class date).

Anyone registering, sponsored or individual, on the night of the training must arrive by 5:30 pm
Registration payment on the night of class must be check or credit card only
No one will be admitted to the class after the class start time.
