The dental hygiene clinic consists of 26 complete, functional dental units for dental hygiene preclinical and clinical instruction. Each of the treatment areas have ADEC patient chairs with over the patient delivery systems.
X-rays are taken on patients in either the radiology clinic (across from the dental hygiene clinic) or within one of the three dental operatories that has an X-ray unit within it.
A sterilization room is located in the center of the dental hygiene clinic. It is where instruments are cleaned and prepared for sterilization. Following instrument usage, instrument cassettes are placed directly in an ultrasonic unit. The drained instrument cassettes are then wrapped and secured using autoclave tape. The packs are loaded into an autoclave and are prepared for sterilization.
In addition to the dental hygiene clinic, GTCC also has a dental assisting clinic. |
