Medical Assisting Program

Steps For Application
The Medical Assisting Program is a two-year Associate Degree program. We accept thirty-five (35) new students every fall semester (August). All of the program (MED) classes are presently offered during the day. However, many of the general education courses are offered in the evening and on-line. These general education (ENG, PSY, MAT) courses may be completed prior to acceptance into the program.

To get started on your new career path, please go to the Medlin Campus Center located on the Jamestown Campus.

• Complete a college application in the Admissions office and tell them you are applying for Medical Assisting
• Meet with the Medical Assisting Admissions Representative and receive your placement test admission card
• Take placement tests and keyboard placement test
• Request a copy of all High School and College Transcripts to be sent to GTCC Records Office

Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office for further information regarding this process. Admissions is open Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 – 1:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. They may be reached at (336) 454-1126 (High Point number) or (336) 334-4822 (Greensboro number) extension 5350.
