The Associate Degree Nursing (integrated) curriculum provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the life span in a variety of settings.
Courses will include content related to the nurse’s role as provider of nursing care, as manager of care, as member of the discipline of nursing, and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The individual must pass NCLEX-RN in order to practice as a Registered Nurse. Employment opportunities exist at hospitals, long term care facilities, clinics, physicians’ offices, industry, and community agencies.
The program offers two entry options for the beginning student. The student may apply for acceptance into the full-time day option or full-time evening/weekend option. The full-time day option begins each Fall semester;
the full-time evening/weekend program begins each Spring semester.
The Associate Degree Nursing program provides the student with several exit options. The students who completes NUR 110 will be eligible to test for Nurse Aide I listing. The student who completes NUR 130 will be eligible for Nurse Aide II listing. Successful completion of the program allows the individual to apply to take the NCLEX-RN. The State Board of Nursing may deny licensure based on criminal background checks.
The program also offers two options for the Licensed Practical Nurse who wishes to further their education and be eligible to take NCLEX-RN. The full-time day option begins each summer and the full-time evening/weekend option begins each spring. Both options require three semesters to complete. |
