Grading
|
1. The grading policy for the ADN Program is the same as the grading policy for Guilford Technical Community College. (see catalogue for the grading scale)
2. The GTCC grading policy applies to the theory component of the nursing courses.
3. Students must achieve an average of 78% on the theory section of the course in order to pass the course and progress to the next nursing course.
4. Each nursing course (with the exception of NUR 117) has a clinical component. Performance in the clinical setting is graded as satisfactory (S) or unsatisfactory (U). The student must receive a satisfactory grade for clinical performance in order to pass the course. The definition for a satisfactory and unsatisfactory grade are published in the course outlines.
5. Nursing students making a grade of "D" or "F" in any course with a prefix of NUR or BIO will be suspended from the ADN Program. Academically suspended students have the right to appeal. See the student handbook for the appeal process. |
