Emergency & Safety Information

| Fire |
| The Campus has a fire alarm system. Upon hearing an alarm, students and staff will evacuate classrooms and office areas to the outside away from the buildings and out of the way of responding emergency personnel. Students should become familiar with the exits from their classrooms. Fire extinguishers are strategically placed for use against minor fires. Any person discovering a fire should sound the alarm and then call the campus telephone operator by dialing “0” immediately, giving the location of the fire and the name of the caller. |

| Medical |
| The College does not maintain a medical staff on campus to administer to visitors, students, staff or faculty. Since all personnel and students reside off-campus, medical and dental care, the expense of such care, are individual responsibilities. The College does not provide emergency treatment. |

| First Aid |
First Aid Kits are located in all shops and departmental offices on campuses. A First Aid Station is located in Room 112 of the Medlin campus Center for the Jamestown Campus. A First Aid Station is located in the GTCC Campus Police Office at the Greensboro and High Point Campuses. In case of an accident, students should report the accident to an instructor or other personnel and request that Camups Police be contacted. Students may also notify the campus operator at the main entrance to the Medlin Campus Center (or dial “0” or contact the GTCC Campus Police Office for assistance.
NOTE: All accidents must be reported to the Campus Police Office as soon as possible. |

| Crime Prevention Tips |
•Do not leave valuables in your car. Leave them at home or lock them in your trunk. Be sure to take your keys with you and lock your vehicle.
•Do not leave personal items (books, purses, keys, pagers, cell phones, etc.) unattended. It only takes a second for them to walk off.
•Report any suspicious person or activity as soon as possible to Campus Police
•Walk in-groups whenever possible. GTCC Campus Police Officers do provide escorts if they are not tied up on another call.
•If you have locked your keys in your car or need a battery jump, contact Campus Police for assistance. We may not be able to unlock many of the newer vehicles and will have to refer you to a locksmith for help.
•We do not provide gasoline should you run out and we are prohibited from changing flat tires or giving you rides due to insurance reasons.
•Campus Police Officers are always ready to assist in any manner that they can. |
