AutoCAD Basics and Productivity

AutoCAD is a powerful tool.  This continuing education course will allow you to learn basic AutoCAD functions as well as the applications and techniques for improved efficiency and productivity.   Based on participants' needs and interests, AutoCAD will be covered from beginner level through intermediate skills.  Course will typically run 2 evenings per week for 4 weeks. GTCC runs AutoDesk 2014 software in its labs.

Prerequisites for student success: Basic understanding of computer operations (keyboard, navigation and file management skills) and familiarity with drafting concepts.

AutoDesk Revit Productivity

This course provides advanced CAD design training with Revit 3D software including CAD file management, productivity and CAD customization skills.  Emphasis will be placed on development advanced proficiency techniques through better understanding of software and creation of walls, doors and libraries.  Upon completion, students will be able to create prototype drawings and symbol libraries, compose sheet set up files with multiple details, and use advanced drawing and editing commands.  Course will typically run 2 evenings per week for 4 weeks. GTCC runs AutoDesk 2014 in its labs.

Prerequisites for student success: Basic understanding of computer operations (keyboard, file management and Internet navigation skills).  Must have AutoCAD experience from OJT or industry use, academic coursework, or completion of the AutoCAD Basics and Productivity continuing education course.  Have a good understanding of building materials and their use.

AutoDesk Revit Interior Design

 

The continuing education course, AutoDesk Revit Interior Design, is presented for the interior designer who wants to implement Revit Architecture within their workflow.  Students will learn how to use phases in design, along with color fill patterns, area calculations, perspective views, walkthroughs, detailed schedules, materials lists, furniture layouts and furniture systems.  Productivity techniques will be shared during the course.  Because of the intermediate to advanced topics, this course will run 2 evenings per week for 6 weeks. GTCC runs AutoDesk 2014 in its labs.

Revit MEP Basics ***NEW COURSE

This course introduces students to the AutoDesk Revit MEP software's user interface and the basic HVAC, electrical and piping/plumbing components as a powerful and flexible engineering modeling tool.

Upon completion, students will demonstrate use of tools necessary to create, document, and print the parametric model.

Recommended Prerequisites:Students should have 6-12 months of operating experience with Revit software either in workplace or academic setting.  Revit MEP software deals with mechanical,electrical and plumbing systems.  It is strongly recommended that students have experience and knowledge in MEP engineering and its terminology.
