GTCC offers GM options within the Automotive Systems Technology program to allow students to get the training they need to prepare for and accelerate their career as an automotive service technician. Completing the program will put you on the right track for entry-level positions at dealerships and authorized GM repair shops anywhere in the country.

In the two-year GM Automotive Systems Technology AAS track, you’ll receive detailed instruction and hands-on experience on brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and climate control systems. You’ll graduate with the technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of General Motors vehicles.

The program also offers two certificate programs as alternatives to the two-year AAS program. The GM Chassis and GM Electrical certificates cover multiple systems while requiring work-based training in the dealerships. Student also receive on-campus training with expert instructors on state-of-the-art equipment.

It is important to note that before registering for the GM Automotive Systems Technology program, you must be sponsored by a qualified dealership. The GM option also requires students to participate in cooperative experiences each semester at the sponsoring dealerships or automotive repair facilities.
