Guilford Technical Community College plays a big role in preparing those who work at big aviation names like: Boeing, Boom Supersonic, HAECO, and others. As the industry grows, so does demand for training. This is why GTCC has plans for a new 100,000-square-foot aviation facility.

The new building will be at the college's Cameron Campus location, which is about 5 miles from the airport.

"We'll be able to increase our capacity because right now we have just over 400 students, we want to get to 600, 800, 1,000 students. So that building is key to helping us do that. So, we're working on that with the state and county officials and seeing how we can move forward," said GTCC President, Dr. Anthony Clarke.
