Summer Camp takes place from 9:00am - 3:00pm each day on the dates specified. Students are expected to be in attendance each day of camp.

Art Exploration

July 13-17, Gerald Hall Lobby

In the Art Exploration camp students will be introduced to different art medium each day, including ceramics, sculpture, painting, collage, paper quilling, and more. Students will create several artworks throughout the week, learning to visually communicate while exploring hands on with a variety of media. Art Exploration is great for students who want to try several things throughout the week and take a tour through Visual Art.

Beauty Boldness - FULL

Beauty Boldness Camp is an inclusive, diverse environment that provides the knowledge and skill of how to properly care for hair, skin and nails. Experienced and licensed cosmetologist will lead them in a wide variety of activities each day. This will include hands on experience with mannequins, cosmetology arts and craft activities, team building exercises, and much more!

Join us for a week of exploration of form, function, and expression using clay. This camp is open to students with any level of experience working in clay. We will focus on learning the fundamentals of hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques as well as surface design

and conceptual development. Lessons will include both functional and sculptural objects. Artwork will be fired after the camp, and there will be a pick-up day scheduled for students to come and collect their finished pieces.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way creative content is produced. In this camp, students explore how AI can be used to create art, experiment with different platforms, and discuss the opportunities and ethical questions surrounding AI-generated content. Each day introduces a new tool or creative format. Students will leave with a collection of pieces they art-directed and produced, along with a stronger understanding of AI platforms, prompt engineering, and the future of AI in creative fields.

Can you take the heat? Experience the fun, fast-paced environment of top restaurant kitchens and food trucks as you bring out your inner chef. Join award-winning faculty who will teach the fundamentals of cooking, baking, and various techniques to whip up delicious creations with flair! Each student will receive their own chef uniform and work through step-by-step instruction in knife skills, food prep, and sanitation procedures. Students will create snacks, meals, and desserts to enjoy each day of the week!

This workshop will include an introduction of our Cyber program here at GTCC, showcasing our CAE status and new Cyber Security Center. Skills to be taught include imaging hard drives and USB drives, use of industry standard forensic tools, mobile phone examination and imaging, and aspects of ethical hacking and open-source intelligence tools.

Future Educators 1: Early Learning

Do you aspire to become a teacher or work with young children? If so, this engaging, hands-on camp is just what you need! Discover exciting and creative activities for young children, learn essential safety practices, and explore how to design age-appropriate experiences. Plus, gain valuable insights into the role and mindset of early childhood educators. This camp will inspire you to think like both a child and a teacher, tap into your inner child, and, above all, have a fantastic time!

Future Educators 2: Leadership and Child Safety – PREREQ required

July 20-24, James Williams Hall 206

Do you help care for younger siblings—or dream of working with children someday? This camp is designed for those who want real-world skills for caring for children, including activity planning (songs, stories, crafts, movement, and play), child-friendly communication strategies, and what to do in common emergency situations. Best of all, participants will earn American Heart Association CPR & First Aid certification, giving them a strong foundation for early childhood career pathways.

Note: Completion of Future Educators 1 (previously Fostering Creative Young Minds) required in order to register. Please email summercamp@gtcc.edu to confirm eligibility.

Ready to bring stories to life? In this camp, we’ll dive into the bold, whimsical world where books and art collide! You’ll explore the signature styles of iconic illustrators and artists, then remix what you learn into your own creations—characters, scenes, patterns, and mixed-media masterpieces. Expect hands-on projects, creative games, and teamwork activities that keep things fun and stress-free. No pressure to be “perfect”—this camp is all about curiosity, experimentation, and rediscovering your imagination through the eyes of a child. Come create with us!

Utilizing hand-drawn elements, AI-fueled imagery and creative brainstorming, campers will create artwork and design for use on clothing (and anything else for that matter!). This fast-paced career option produces products for fashion, marketing, event promotion, and advertising. Campers will learn about the major technologies involved, get hands-on experience creating garments with the imagery/graphics they produce.

Frequently Asked Questions

The registration fee must be paid upon registration via credit/debit card.

Supplies vary by course but are mostly provided. Any special requests will be communicated by email two weeks before the start of Summer Camp. Please note, some courses do have dress code requirements that will be communicated a few weeks before Summer Camp (please see below). All other materials are provided by GTCC.

Yes! But please be aware that some programs are offered both weeks with the same content. We recommend choosing a different program each week. Please register separately for each week.

Yes! Lunch is provided from 12-12:45 p.m. each day. If students have allergies, we recommend they bring their own lunches. Snacks and beverages can be purchased from vending machines on campus.

If a parent/guardian has signed off on the registration form, yes, students may drive themselves. All students should sign in each day with their instructors.

Refunds will be offered up to two weeks in advance of the start date of Summer Camp. Please email summercamp@gtcc.edu for a refund. Please allow up to four to six weeks to receive your refund.
