JAMESTOWN, N.C. (Nov. 6, 2025) – Michael H. Godwin has been appointed to the Guilford Technical Community College board of trustees while longtime board member David Miller was reappointed.

Godwin, a Greensboro attorney, has more than five decades of legal experience and civic leadership.

Miller, who has served on the board of trustees for over 15 years, is the founder of D.S. Miller, Inc., a High Point-based manufacturer of precision metal parts for transportation and industrial equipment.

“We are honored to welcome Michael Godwin to the board of trustees and deeply appreciative of David Miller’s continued service,” said GTCC President Anthony Clarke, Ph.D. “Their combined expertise in law, manufacturing, and community engagement will strengthen our mission to empower students and support the economic vitality of Guilford County.”

Godwin is a board-certified specialist in estate planning and probate law and a certified superior court mediator.

Godwin earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is a partner at Schell Bray PLLC.

“I’m honored to be appointed to serve on the board of trustees. I have served on the GTCC Foundation board for many years and have seen the impact the college has on our community,” said Godwin. “I look forward to being more deeply involved as a trustee and supporting affordable, life-changing education and training opportunities for thousands of Guilford County residents.”

Miller has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and a master’s in business administration from Wake Forest University.

Miller began D.S. Miller, Inc. in 1978. The company manufactures precision metal parts used in heavy machinery, automotive, aerospace, material handling and medical industries.

“It has been an honor to serve as a trustee for GTCC over the years,” said Miller. “I’ve seen the college evolve, adapt, and grow to meet the needs of the local workforce and our community over the years. I look forward to being part of this next phase of growth and innovation.”
