Guilford County Emergency Services has launched a new partnership with Guilford Technical Community College to train future paramedics through GTCC’s one-year paramedic program. For the first time in more than 20 years, the county is moving paramedic training out of its in-house model and sponsoring 12 current EMT employees to attend the program—while remaining on the clock. County leaders say the partnership strengthens workforce development and expands lifesaving skills, while participants call the opportunity career-changing.
